Well today was Zoe's 1st Birthday Party ... Hard to believe that she is already (well almost) a year old!! I am not sure where the last year has gone. We celebrated with a Monkey and Polka Dot theme. While Zoe napped this morning Daddy and Mommy decorated the house and when the little princess woke up it was party time.
The day started off with Ensign Family pictures since Uncle Jeff was here from Texas and Aunt Chrissy, Uncle Dave, Cousin Lucas and Cousin Layla were here from Illinois to help celebrate. The last time we did the big family picture was in 2008 when it was just Lucas and now there are 2 more grand-daughters to add to the family, Zoe & Layla! Quynh was also part of the pictures since she is part of the family now, Zoe just loves her!!!
After pictures Zoe took a long nap, we decorated and got ready to PARTY & Celebrate! Keelee and Brad came to help us celebrate too (Zoe approves of Brad and liked him!). Nana & Papa and Uncle Patrick brought a "Liz" cake and mommy made Zoe a "Smash" cake. Even though Zoe had her "smash" cake she was very lady-like eating it. When we were done with our BBQ lunch and Cake it was present time ... Cousin Lucas was a huge help. Zoe wasn't sure what to do with the gifts yet, she did rip open some paper and pass out paper and cards to everyone so cousin Lucas was a great help in showing her how to open and what everyone gave her. She will be set with some fun toys, books, dolls and money for college! Thank you everyone!
When the party was over, we said good-bye to our families and Zoe was out for another nap. Chris and I got the mess cleaned up and rested a bit!
I am so proud to be Zoe's mom and love that little girl dearly ... Thank you to everyone for helping us celebrate her first year of life, we couldn't have done it without you, she (and we) love each and everyone of you and you all touch her life in one way or another.
HAPPY FIRST YEAR ZOE!!!!!

Spring Break 2010
Ok so the title doesn't exactly say, "Sun in the Sky, Toes in the Sand, Drink in Hand" but we did have a great week this week! Nana came for the whole week and Zoe is wrapping Nana around every little finger she has :) and it's really really cute!!!
Monday: Zoe and Nana hung out while I had to run errands and work in the training room. Not the most exciting day imagined but they sure had a good time together!
Tuesday: Let the fun begin. After I got home from work Nana, Zoe and I went to the Tanger Outlet Mall in the Dells and did some shopping. Zoe made out with a whole bunch of cute summer clothes and Nana found a dress for Zoe's Uncle Mike's wedding this fall.
Wednesday: Big day at the ZOO. Zoe, Nana and I met up with two teachers that I work with and their little girls and off we went. Oh wait, Zoe's cousin David hung out with us the whole day also. We had such a great time. The Zoo was packed with kids and strollers and all the animals decided that it was nap time while we were there. Oh well, we had the perfect day for the Zoo!!!
Thursday: Another perfect day. So after Zoe's swim lessons we met up with Keelee (Zoe's Godmother) and the girls went to State Street and had lunch and walked enjoying the perfect day. We found ourselves at the Union for ice cream, ok that was planned, and then headed home. Zoe slept the whole lunch and walk and ice cream. She was the easiest baby ever that day!! Chris, Keelee & I went out for a nice dinner while Nana and Zoe enjoyed some quiet time together.
Friday: Today has been a day of rest for all of us! What a big week we have had. Zoe has had 3 naps today, short but naps none the less! I got to work on my grad school projects and Nana got some papers graded! Zoe had a visit from Gramma Joan and Quynh before they headed off for the airport. Gramma Joan and Grandpa Tom are headed to Florida for spring break all next week and Quynh is headed to meet up with her sister in Hawaii. Zoe just enjoyed hanging out with them giving kisses, laughs and her Easter card. Tonight we will go see Grandpa Simon and go out to a fish dinner. Tomorrow Papa Flynn will arrive for the rest of the Easter weekend. Zoe will have so much fun with both Nana and Papa here!!!

Where has time gone??
Greetings everyone!!
So it's been a long time since I last posted. We are busy as every enjoying Zoe and Wrigley and all of the activities we do as a family, including snuggle time and our down time!!!!
So a recap on events:
January -- Zoe got both of her teeth this month and really started to roll herself over.
February -- Long wintry month and cold!!! I kept busy with working and grad school while Zoe, Wrigley & Chris held down the fort at home. Chris and I went to the Men's Badger Hockey Classic at Camp Randall, that was a blast and I got out of class early to attend the game, beautiful!!! Zoe had her first Valentines Day and got a lot of cards from her "Valentines" out there, thank you everyone. She really started drooling and those pesky teeth are just bothering her but the next ones aren't popping through just yet! Zoe also had a lunch date with Papa Flynn & Grandpa Simon.... the stories are hillarious, you'll have to ask them for their versions!!
March -- Oh lots to celebrate! First it was Daddy's Birthday and we went to the Nitty Gritty for dinner with Gramma & Grampa Ensign, Grandpa Simon & Quynh. Zoe had a great time watching everyone and taking everything in. When she started to get a bit fussy I gave her my pickle spear and low and behold, she LOVED it!!! She sucked it dry and wanted more and more, so we passed the baby to the next pickle, what fun! Then it was mommy's birthday and St. Paddy's day. Zoe went to great grandma Endres' house and wore one shamrock outfit and changed into the other one for a night out to the Blue Moon for dinner for my birthday. Quynh's reaction was: "Why is everyone wearing green?" When we explained it was St. Patrick's Day, she said, "But we aren't in Ireland" ... oh the silly things we Americans do for fun! Zoe is still working on those teeth, she has such a chapped chin from drooling and chewing so much, poor baby girl! Wrigley is going for walks with Zoe and I after work and "The Simon Girls" love their walks,,, I just can't wait for nicer weather to get out more and longer. Zoe is rolling everywhere now and pushing herself up to a sit with little assistance. She is also trying to pull herself up to a stand when she gets near something that will hold her. So far not successful, thank goodness. She does love to jump in her jumper and is pointing at things with her pointer finger. Zoe's bigger accomplishment this March was that she finished her first parent & child swim lesson and even got her Red Cross certificate of completion. We are all ready for the next session, she is a fish in water and just loves to go to the pool and swim!!!!!! I am so happy for that!
I am just amazed and in awe at my family! I could sit and watch Zoe all day, watch her interact with Wrigley is funny too, Wrigley doesn't think so though, and the bond between her and Chris is just amazing!
Sorry there aren't any pictures with this post but oh well! Until next time, hopefully it isn't this long again, but hey I am impressed that I can keep up this well with an almost 8month old baby :) Cheers!!
